Theoretical Courses
Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue and Orchestration in Kavala

Music education at the Neapolis Kavala Conservatory is not limited to practical practice on an instrument or voice.
Theoretical Courses offer students the necessary equipment to understand in depth the structure and language of music, its history, as well as the principles of composition, harmony and counterpoint.
Thus, each student has the opportunity to develop into a complete and inspired musician.

The Department of Music Science operates autonomously and aims to prepare students who wish to continue their studies in Departments of Music Studies at Universities.

Compulsory Courses: Theory, Solfeggio, History of Music (basic and advanced level), Composition, Choir, Morphology, Ennumerable Bass, Orchestra, Chamber Music, Prima Vista, Practical Teaching, as well as Compulsory Piano.

In addition, within the framework of Higher Theory, Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue (Fuji) and Orchestration are taught, according to the syllabus established by the Ministry of Culture for the acquisition of the corresponding degree.

All of the above courses are taught according to the framework established by the Ministry of Culture, ensuring the validity and recognition of the degrees awarded by the Conservatory.

Teaching is done by specialized music theory teachers, using modern methods that make theory accessible, understandable and alive. Students acquire a solid foundation for further studies, for composing musical works, as well as for active participation in musical ensembles and orchestras.

With the Theoretical Courses of the Neapolis Conservatory, musical education acquires a full dimension, combining knowledge, practice and artistic inspiration.
