Bouzouki and Greek Traditional Instruments Lessons in Kavala

Traditional and Folk Music is an integral part of our cultural identity and at the Neapolis Kavala Conservatory it holds a special place in the curriculum. Through the lessons, students learn about the rich Greek musical tradition, explore the authentic sound of folk instruments and gain a deeper connection with the roots of our musical heritage.

In the Traditional & Folk Music department, the following are taught:

  • Bouzouki – the quintessential instrument of the folk repertoire, with an emphasis on technique, style and interpretation.
  • Traditional instruments – such as lute, kanunaki, toumbeleki, violin, clarinet, depending on the repertoire and the needs of the students.

  • Performing traditional songs and motifs from various regions of Greece
  • Participating in musical ensembles and events, so that students can experience the authentic experience of folk and traditional music in practice

Studies are organized in levels and allow for both amateur engagement and systematic preparation at a professional level. Students participate in concerts, festivals and cultural events, showcasing the tradition of Greek music in a contemporary context.

Traditional & Folk Music at the Neapolis Conservatory combines teaching with experiential experience, offering students the joy of participation, company and creation through authentic Greek sounds.
